STUDY VISIT TO SCHUMACHER PACKAGING COMPANY

On May 16, 2023, a study visit was organized for students of the IULT in Wrocław at Schumacher Packaging Sp. z o. o. in Krępice, as part of the project Integrated University Development Program as a Guarantee of Students' Success.

Schumacher Packaging Sp. z o. o. is a family company with an international reach that has been operating for 75 years. The company is an industry leader in productivity and technology that offers modern corrugated and solid board packaging for every industry, using natural renewable raw materials.

The factory in Wrocław was recognized for its outstanding results in the field of sustainable development and named "Best Performer - Europe" in the EcoVadis Sustainability Leadership Awards 2023 Competition.

The purpose of the study visit was to familiarize students with the specifics of working in international production company with a long tradition.

During the meeting, students were shown a presentation to familiarize them with the history and organizational structure of the company. A short OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) training was also conducted, in accordance with the company's safety rules and requirements.

Thanks to the visit to the warehouse, the students learned how to safely transport and stack the company's products using dedicated machines. In the production hall, students learned about various methods of packaging production. After a short break they had the opportunity to see how a stacker crane (lifting device used in warehouses to transport and stack stored materials) stores pallets ready for transport.
