Between 19 and 27 January 2026, representatives of the IULT participated in the Kick-Off Meeting of the three-year DIGILOG project, held in Kigali, Rwanda. The project is implemented under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme and is an international initiative aimed at enhancing modern education in the fields of logistics and transport.

The project is carried out in cooperation with Rwanda Polytechnic and East African University Rwanda, as well as the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław (Poland) and the University of Žilina (Slovakia).

The primary objective of the DIGILOG project is to strengthen logistics and transport education through digitalisation. This includes the development of new digital courses and the establishment of a shared digital logistics laboratory equipped with RFID technology, thus enabling students to simulate real-world logistics processes and supply chain operations.

The Kick-Off Meeting brought together all project partners and provided an opportunity to define the key areas of cooperation, assign responsibilities, and discuss the plan of project’s implementation. The event was also of significant importance to the local community, attracting interest from non-governmental organisations, other educational institutions, and the media.

In addition to the official programme, the East African University Rwanda hosted a more casual evening event, during which students presented cultural performances, offering participants valuable insight into Rwandan culture.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our partners in Rwanda for the excellent organisation of the meeting and for their dedication and commitment in making this week a success.
