THE RECTOR OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT IN WROCŁAW VISITS A PARTNER UNIVERSITY IN NINGBO (CHINA)
From May 19 to 26, 2025, the Rector of the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław, Dr. Marcin Pawęska, Prof. IULT, visited a partner institution – Ningbo University of Technology in China. The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, which fosters international cooperation in education, scientific research and academic exchange.
This visit marked an important step in the continuation of a long-standing partnership between the IULT and the Ningbo University of Technology, which includes student and staff exchanges, joint research projects, and activities promoting the internationalization of education.
One of the key highlights of the visit was the Rector’s meeting with Prof. Chen Zhirong, PhD – the Vice President of the Ningbo University of Technology. The discussions focused on the existing collaboration and its further development, including joint initiatives and the implementation of research and development projects in the field of transport and logistics.
As part of the busy agenda, the Rector also visited the Li Dak Sum Incubator affiliated with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). It is one of the leading Sino-British platforms supporting the development of startups, technological projects and academic entrepreneurship initiatives.
On May 23, 2025, the Rector delivered a lecture to the academic community of the partner university on the role and significance of artificial intelligence in modern logistics and transport. The presentation was met with great interest from students and academic staff and served as a starting point for further discussions on the application of advanced technologies in the TSL (Transport, Shipping and Logistics) sector.
On May 22–23, 2025, the Rector also participated in the prestigious China-CEEC Young Science & Technology Talents Exchange Conference in Ningbo. The conference was supported by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province. It was organized by the China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation Research Center, in cooperation with leading universities and research institutions.
Under the slogan “Innovative Youth, Share the Future”, the participants discussed new opportunities and pathways for scientific and technological cooperation. The event brought together prominent representatives from politics and academia from China and Central and Eastern European countries, including:
- Budimir Aleksić – Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro
- Xu Yan – Deputy Mayor of Ningbo
- Chang Jian – Deputy Director General of the Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China
- Wang Xiao – Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology of China
- Lou Xuejun – Deputy Director General of the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province
The Rector’s presence at the Conference strengthened the university's international standing and opened up new opportunities for scientific cooperation and academic exchange.
