SECTORAL COUNCIL FOR COMPETENCES IN ROAD TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS OF ROAD TRANSPORT
The International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław took part in the competition for the organization and management of sectoral councils for competences. The competition was announced by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (Pl.: PARP).
The submitted application was positively evaluated, and as a result, on March 5, 2025, an agreement was signed entrusting the IULT with the organization and leadership of the Sectoral Council for Competences in Road Transport and Logistics of Road Transport.
Sectoral councils for competences serve as a platform for cooperation between business, education, science, and industry institutions. Members of the councils will develop joint projects aimed at the improved preparation of future professionals. This system is intended to support businesses with both appropriate economic solutions and well-prepared, educated teams of employees. Closer cooperation between business and education will help to reduce skill deficiencies, bringing tangible benefits to companies and their employees.
The sectoral councils will prepare legal frameworks for effective and practical education of specialists, and also encourage employers to engage in education by organizing internships and placements as well as co-creating vocational training curricula. The system will foster partnerships between businesses, labour market institutions, education providers, and public administration – allowing the collection of reliable data on sector-specific qualification needs and improving the effectiveness of educational activities, job placement, and career counselling.
The Council’s tasks will include in particular:
- identifying and forecasting the qualification and vocational needs of the Road Transport and Logistics of Road Transport sector (referred to as TDiLTD) in Poland to align educational processes with labour market needs,
- defining research areas and initiating studies on employee competences in the sector, collecting and sharing information on the TDiLTD sector’s needs with social partners,
- recommending systemic and legislative changes in education and its adaptation to labour market demands, which includes suggesting changes in sectoral qualification frameworks and gathering input from employers on required qualifications,
- disseminating information about qualification and vocational needs within the TDiLTD sector,
- supporting the development of competences in the sector by initiating cooperation between employers and universities, as well as other entities as defined in Article 2 of the Act of December 14, 2016 – Education Law, to integrate education and the labour market,
