Scientific Conference – Interdisciplinarity in Security: Theory – Practice – Education
On October 29-30, 2024, the second conference on "Interdisciplinarity in Security: Theory–Practice–Education" took place in Szklarska Poręba, attracting numerous representatives from academia as well as security sector professionals.
The conference saw participation from Dr. Karolina Wnuk and students from the IULT in Wrocław.
The aim of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of views on the role of NATO and the EU in the international security system, as well as to spark discussions on new technologies which could significantly enhance the quality of tasks executed within this system.
Dr. Karolina Wnuk led a discussion panel that covered the topics related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and strategic communication. The panel included experts from state services, NATO STO in Paris, and higher education institutions.
One of the speakers, the IULT student Paweł Hamerliński, presented on “The Role of Information in Floodplain Evacuation Processes: A Case Study of the Wrocław Water Node.” His presentation was recognized by the organizers, and he secured the first place among student presenters.
The Interdisciplinarity in Security conference offered a blend of theory and practice. In addition to lecture and discussion panels, the participants engaged in practical workshops on crisis situations in mountainous areas, with a special focus on security challenges in border zones.
