We are proud to announce that, as of September 1, 2026, the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław will officially change its name to Western University in Wrocław.

The name change follows a decision by the Minister of Science and Higher Education granting approval for the use of the word “university” in the institution’s name. This marks an important milestone in our development and opens up new opportunities for our academic community in the areas of education, research, and international cooperation.

The new name reflects the broader scope of the University’s activities, its growing significance within the academic community, and the direction of its further development. Our many years of experience in educating specialists in logistics and transport will remain an important part of our activities. At the same time, Western University in Wrocław will gradually expand its range of degree programmes to meet the changing needs of the labour market and the expectations of future students.

As a member of the VIZJA University Scientific Federation, Western University is also strengthening its scientific, research, and organisational potential. Cooperation within the Federation allows us to pursue joint research projects on a larger scale, conduct research, exchange experience among academic staff, and develop interdisciplinary initiatives.

The name change is more than a formal step – it represents the dynamic development of the University. Western University in Wrocław will continue to build on its traditions and values while further developing a high-quality educational offering as well as its scientific and research activities.

New opportunities, new directions for development, and further ambitious goals lie ahead of us. Together, we are beginning a new chapter in the history of education as Western University in Wrocław.
