PROJECT SUMMARY IMPLEMENTED WITHIN THE SPINAKER PROGRAMME

The International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław (IULT) is successfully implementing the objectives of its internationalisation strategy. Within the NAWA project entitled “Support for the Creation and Implementation of International Education Programmes”, project no. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0436/23, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus under the European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 Programme, five modern Intensive International Education Programmes (IMEPs) were developed and implemented.

The courses concluded with an examination and the issuance of certificates confirming the acquisition of competences sought after on the labour market, becoming a key element in the development of the University’s global educational offer.

Project in numbers

The recruitment process was a great success, attracting students from several continents:

• 151 recruited and trained participants,
• 64 women and 87 men,
• 106 international participants from Ukraine, China, Morocco, Egypt, India, and Hungary, as well as 45 students studying in Poland.

Implemented programmes and editions

During the previous summer semester of 2026, classes were successfully conducted for 9 groups within 5 newly created Intensive International Education Programmes:

1. Artificial Intelligence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (30 hours) – 3 groups were trained, with a total of 53 students, including 8 participants from China, 8 from Morocco, 15 from Poland, 20 from Ukraine, and 1 participant each from Hungary and India.
2. The Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in Logistics (30 hours) – 2 groups were conducted for 20 students from Ukraine, including practical training flights and measurement flights.
3. Application of Automation and Digitalisation in Production and Warehousing Processes (30 hours) – 2 groups comprising 35 participants, including 10 students from Egypt, 8 from China, and 17 from Poland.
4. Sustainable (Green) Supply Chains (30 hours) – 2 groups involving 43 participants, including 20 students from Ukraine, 10 from Egypt, and 13 from Poland.
5. Modern Technologies in Logistics (60 hours) – the programme remains part of the educational offer; however, it was not selected by candidates in this year’s edition.

Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals

The project directly contributed to the implementation of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education:

• Equality and accessibility (SDG 4.3): Free education, scholarships, and full coverage of travel and accommodation costs ensured equal opportunities for all participants, regardless of gender.
• Future skills development (SDG 4.4): The programmes enabled participants to gain knowledge and practical skills in areas such as ERP and WMS systems, process modelling (AnyLogic), deep learning, and robotics.
• Environmental education (SDG 4.7): The topic of green logistics was implemented with respect for environmental principles, including the use of electronic document circulation and reducing paper consumption. The scope of the IMEPs also covered various aspects of sustainable development in the TSL (Transport, Spedition and Logistics) sector.

Long-term impact of the project

All groups participating in the developed programmes completed a final examination. Successful completion allowed participants to receive certificates confirming the acquisition of competences highly valued on the labour market in the TSL sector.

An additional value of the project was the opportunity to build international relationships, exchange experiences, and create friendships within a multicultural academic environment.

After the end of the project funding period (31 July 2026), all developed courses and educational materials will remain available and will become a permanent part of the educational offer of the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław.

The project was implemented within the SPINAKER Programme of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) from 1 June 2025 to 31 July 2026.
