Brief course / program reasoning
A progressive dynamic is characteristic for current socio­economic conditions in the Visegrad Group countries. It results in growing necessity of gaining abilities of using occurring opportunities, but also avoiding potential threats. Planned course will integrate the activities of partner countries in the field of safety. Building awareness in the V4 countries and sharing good practice of safety management will allow educating managers, that will be able to conduct prevention and correction activities in crisis situations. After a completion of the course students will become important elements of reassurance of personal, technological and logistical support to avoid threats in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia.
 
Tentative time frame of the project
The course will be introduced into the teaching program on 1.10.2016. Planned schedule of project activities: Stage 1 Appointing a team of experts from Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia­ their goal is detailed preparation of courses content­ June 2016. Stage 2 Preparation of multimedia presentation, case studies and other didactical materials by the team of experts­ June­ August 2016. Stage 3 Presentation of the content of the course during a session of the Senate of the Inernational University of Logistics and Transport­ September 2016. Stage 4 Organizational preparation of the course: publication of the didactical materials on the students web page, choosing exact dates and Times of the classes­ October 2016. Each semester consists of 4 didactical months (October­January).
 
Brief course/program description
Aim of the course is acquainting students with good practices in the field of safety management in Visegrad Group countries. Content of the course will be: Internal safety systems in V4 countries Internal safety institutions in V4 countries Safety policies in V4 countries Socio­economic safety in V4 countries Crisis management in V4 countries Providing logistic safety support in V4 countries Border safety management of V4 Risk management in V4 countries Cyberspace and informational safety in V4 countries Following methods will be used: Informational lecture with use of multimedia Case study Film, presentation, exhibition

Please specify the target groups for which the course/program is designed
The course will be implemented into a Master Studies program­ Logistics, specialty: Supply Chain Manager, Production Logistics Manager, Transport Manager. The course is obligatory. Requirements for students are: basic knowledge on mechanisms in the fields like management, economy and Logistics.

Competencies the course/program will give to its attendees/graduates:
Students will gain knowledge on basic guidelines of safety system in the Visegrad Group. They will also understand aspects of social, economic, ecologic, energetic, informatics, military and political safety. In addition to that they get a chance to understand main problems and causes of crisis situations, particularly within the Visegrad Group. Students will gain the ability to act in crisis situations and coordinating activities in such situations, in particular they will be able to organize resources- human, financial, technical- necessary for the safety of Visegrad Group countries. Important are also the social competences gained through the course, such as: ability to behave in crisis situation, awareness of responsibility for one’s work and thorough fulfillment of one’s tasks, ability to work under time pressure and in stressful situations and also teamwork.
 
Duration of the course/program:
Course will be conducted during one semester- 30 hours (together min. 3 semesters)
 
Periodicity of the course/program:
Course will be included in the program in every semester due to the academic year: October and March
 
Added value of the course/program, outputs:
Similar courses were not conducted in any of the countries and the issue of safety in current political, social and economic situation has become a key priority. Since many years the V4 countries have been cooperating in many areas concerning safety, due to their location, history, level of development and development priorities are similar. The students don’t have to be prepared to take part in the course, nevertheless considering the field of studies, they will have to have passed several courses, such as: Management, economy, logistics. There are no study visits planned in the grant application, but it is highly possible, that the University will organize such visits using its own financial contribution or grants from other sources, if possible.
 
Sustainability:
After completion the financing course will still be maintained and will be implemented in the standard curricula. Changes may occur only in the form of teaching and learning techniques – to distance ones (e-learning). It should also be stressed that the evaluation of the course will be conducted, and then, after the introduction of improvements, will be proposed for implementation in the partner universities.
 
Final assessment:
1. Lecture- written examination. 2. Exercise- attendance, project in a written form (group work).
